Pan-fried Tofu Burger
Summary:
This is a crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside vegetarian burger, where pan-fried tofu replaces the traditional patty, combined with fresh vegetables and flavorful sauces for a delicious and healthy meal.
Ingredients:
Soft tofu 200g (pressed to remove excess water)
Breadcrumbs 50g
Cornstarch 2 tbsp
Soy sauce 1 tbsp
Vegetarian oyster sauce 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
White pepper powder to taste
Cooking oil 1 tbsp
Whole wheat burger buns 2
Lettuce as needed
Tomato 1 (sliced)
Cucumber 50g (sliced)
Vegan mayonnaise 2 tbsp (or other plant-based sauce)
Instructions:
1.Make the tofu patty:
Press the tofu to remove excess water, mash it, then mix with breadcrumbs, cornstarch, soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, salt, and white pepper powder. Shape into patties.
2.Pan-fry the tofu patty:
Heat a little oil in a pan, place the tofu patties in, and pan-fry over medium-low heat until golden brown on both sides. Set aside.
3.Prepare burger buns:
Slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them in a dry pan for better texture.
4.Assemble the burger:
Layer lettuce, the pan-fried tofu patty, tomato slices, cucumber slices, and vegan mayonnaise onto the bottom bun, then place the top bun.
5.Serve and enjoy:
Lightly press the burger to hold everything together, then serve immediately.
