Dry-fried Tofu Strips

Summary

This is a chewy and flavorful vegetarian dish, where tofu strips are dry-fried to a crispy texture and infused with aromatic seasonings.

Ingredients

Tofu strips 300g (cut into sections)

Red bell pepper 50g (sliced)

Shiitake mushrooms 100g (sliced)

Soy sauce 1 tbsp

Vegetarian oyster sauce 1 tbsp

Doubanjiang (fermented chili bean paste) 1 tbsp

Salt to taste

White pepper powder to taste

Cooking oil 1 tbsp

Water as needed

Instructions

1.Prepare ingredients:
Cut the tofu strips into sections, slice the red bell pepper and shiitake mushrooms.

2.Dry-frying tofu strips:
Heat a small amount of oil in a pan, add the tofu strips, and pan-fry over medium-low heat until slightly golden and crispy. Set aside.

3.Stir-frying mushrooms:
Add more oil to the pan, stir-fry the shiitake mushrooms until they release some moisture.

4.Adding seasonings:
Stir in the doubanjiang until fragrant, then add red bell pepper, soy sauce, vegetarian oyster sauce, salt, and white pepper powder. Mix well.

5.Final stir-fry:
Return the fried tofu strips to the pan, stir-fry evenly, then pour in a little water and simmer for 2 minutes on low heat until fully infused with flavor. Serve hot.
